Hugh Clemenhagen

In the early morning hours of Friday January 26th, Hugh (Hughie) Milton Clemenhagen passed peacefully in his sleep at the age of 87.  Originally from Buckingham, Quebec his final years were spent at the Osgoode Care Centre in Metcalfe, Ontario.

Survived by his wife of 59 years, Vera (nee McGarry) and sons Jeffry (Wendy Rochester) and Steven.  Loving Grandfather to Marjorie, Dane and Cole.  Hugh will be missed by nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Born the youngest of eight to Harry Clemenhagen and Ester (nee Laforce), he worked 35 years as a machinist with the James Maclaren Paper Company/ Noranda in Masson (Quebec). An avid outdoorsman, Hugh loved fishing, hunting, hiking and skiing with family and friends. A skilled craftsman, handyman and gardener, Hugh enjoyed his time in nature.

Special thanks to the PSWs, nurses, and staff at the Osgoode Care Centre for their care and dedication.

Family and friends are invited to visit at the Cadieux funeral home, 322 Avenue de Buckingham (Gatineau) on Saturday, February 10th, 2024 from 1 p.m until time of the Celebration of Life service in the Chapel at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers Vera and family request donations be made to Osgoode Care Centre – 7650 Snake Island Road. Metcalfe ON. K0A 2P0.
