It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David Harold French (75), who passed away peacefully with family by his side on May 13, 2024. Beloved husband of Clasiena (nee Huismans) and proud father of Andrew (Stacey), Sean (Julie), and Robin (Sasha). Cherished Grandpa of Kaitlyn, Tristan, Ace, Amelia, Daphne, and Caroline. He is survived by his brother Charles French (Judy) and predeceased by his parents Charles and Adrienne (nee Earle), and sisters Greta Scott (Doug) and Joy Miller (Leo). He will also be missed by his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and many nieces, nephews and cherished friends.
Dave, and wife Siena, started French Excavation in 1971. He will be remembered for his hard work, and dedication to the community. The family fondly remembers times spent at Gull Lake with family and friends - fishing, water skiing and swimming.
The French’s will receive friends and family at Cadieux Funeral Home, 322 ave. de Buckingham, Gatineau, QC on Friday, May 17th, 2024 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm, and Saturday, May 18th, 2024 from 9:00am to 10:30am. Funeral service will follow at 11:00am at St. Andrew’s United Church, 570 ave. de Buckingham, Gatineau, QC. Burial will follow at Mulgrave Baptist Cemetery at the Blanche. Reception afterwards at Hill and Gully Riders Club at 149 Chemin Inlet in Mulgrave. The family would like to thank the staff of l’Hopital de Papineau and le Centre d'hébergement de Vallée-de-la-Lièvre for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations to Parkinson Canada or the Papineau Health Foundation would be appreciated.
