With great sadness we announce the passing of (Dorothy) Joan Locke (nee Legge) on January 11, 2023 at the age of 92 in Ottawa, Ontario.
Beloved wife of 62 years to the late Allan Locke. Loving mother to Diane (Bob), James, Ian (Colleen) and Catherine (Phil). Cherished grandmother of Derek, Madeline (Mitchell), Evan, Isaac (Bethany), Ben, Ryan, Shane, Kevin and Emily. Great grandmother of Phoenix and Brooklyn. Joan was a graduate of McGill University (1951) and worked as a dietician at the Montreal General until stopping to raise her 4 children.
She was an active member of Ste. Genevieve United Church and volunteer at Lakeshore Hospital ,Home and School Association and Girl Guides. A native Montrealer, Joan grew up in TMR and often spoke of special memories with her young family at Camp Jackson Dodds. She loved a good game of cards, especially bridge, a round of golf, camping, shopping and time spent with family and friends. She spent her last few years in Ottawa at Valley Stream Manor where she enjoyed many activities especially happy hour.

A celebration of Joan’s life will be held in April. Joan will be missed and lovingly remembered forever.
